Fair play guide

Game Rules

These rules keep Scrux competitive, readable, and fair. Breaking them can lead to warnings, mutes, temporary bans, or permanent bans depending on severity and history.

Moderators act on evidence, context, and the best interests of the game. If you need help, explain the situation honestly and keep it respectful.

Core Principles

  • Scrux is a competitive, skill-based game.
  • Ignorance of the rules is not a defence.
  • Moderators may use discretion when behaviour is harmful, unfair, or disruptive.
  • Discretionary decisions can be reviewed through the ticket system.

Cross-Teaming

Cross-teaming, also called X-teaming, is when you help another team, sabotage your own team, or protect players who are not on your team.

Soft teaming

  • You may greet friends or briefly interact when it does not affect a fight.
  • You may only feed, dance, or mess around with friends when no enemies are nearby.
  • If enemies are present, they must be treated as enemies.

Cross-teaming is judged case-by-case by experienced moderators. Moderator judgement is final.

Viruses and Third-Virusing

Third-virusing happens when two teams are fighting and another player or team shoots viruses in a way that unfairly changes the outcome.

  • Viruses must clearly benefit you or your own team.
  • You may not randomly virus and hope your team gains from it.
  • If someone viruses you first, you may shoot back the equivalent amount only.
  • You may not fake-load viruses to bait others into defending.

Alt Accounts, Tabs, and Botting

You may not use alts, guest accounts, multiple tabs, bots, scripts, or automation to gain mass, EXP, coins, information, or any other gameplay advantage.

  • No feeding yourself with extra accounts or tabs.
  • No bypassing punishments, verification, cooldowns, or protections.
  • No using automation to play, farm, scout, or spam.

Exploits and Abuse

Abusing bugs or unintended mechanics is taken seriously. Report exploits instead of using them.

  • Bug, glitch, physics, or desync abuse.
  • Cooldown bypassing or input manipulation.
  • Forcing lag, instability, or map-edge abuse.
  • Using hidden information or broken client behaviour for advantage.

Network and Multi-Account Abuse

  • No VPN, proxy, device, or IP bypassing to evade punishment.
  • No mass-account creation.
  • No evading email, CAPTCHA, or anti-abuse checks.

These behaviours may result in permanent bans.

Advertising

Advertising is not allowed. This includes repeatedly promoting other games, posting Discord links or external servers, or asking players to leave Scrux for another service.

Casually mentioning another game is usually fine. Repeated promotion, patterns, or intent will be moderated.

Chat and Behaviour

Chat moderation is based on context and moderator discretion.

  • No racism, hate speech, slurs, or discriminatory abuse.
  • No harassment, bullying, threats, or encouraging self-harm.
  • No spam, impersonation, scams, doxxing, or disruptive drama.
  • No provoking players or staff to derail the game or tickets.

Reports and Tickets

  • Use /report only for genuine issues.
  • The affected player should submit the ticket where possible.
  • False reports, spam reports, or edited evidence may lead to punishment.

Punishments

There is no fixed punishment ladder. Moderators consider severity, intent, evidence, history, and attitude.

  • Warning
  • Temporary mute
  • Temporary ban
  • Permanent ban

Evidence-Based Moderation

Moderation decisions may use server logs, chat logs, reports, player behaviour, device and connection signatures, and direct moderator observation.

Appeals should include evidence and a clear explanation. Abusive or dishonest appeals are less likely to succeed.

Final Note

Scrux has its own rules, culture, and standards. Play fairly, treat people with respect, and help keep the arena competitive.
